The Grappa d\’Artista (Artist\’s Grappa) collection this year has been embellished by a precious pot crafted in the 1980s by Mario Moretti (Reggio Emilia, 1917 – Pordenone, 2008), one of the leading representatives of modern art in Pordenone. After the terrible experience of the Nazi concentration camps of the Second World War, Moretti combined teaching with artistic production, experimenting and mastering different techniques, such as painting, sculpture, goldsmithery and pottery.
This new bottle and the art exhibition about him at the Museo Civico d’Arte at Palazzo Ricchieri in Pordenone are a tribute to Mario. To the Paguras, he was an artist and a friend. At the end of the 1970s, we started working together to create the first artistic grappa bottles, later assembled in one of the most fascinating and prestigious grappa bottle collections in the world.
