With the Artist Grappa 2015, the Pagura distillery pays a tribute to Emilio Scanavino (Genoa, February 28th 1922 – Milan, November 28th 1986) one of the greatest Italian artists of the twentieth century.
Best known for his painting, he also devoted part of his artistic production to sculpture, and ceramics in particular, when working in the historic Ceramiche Mazzotti Albissola Marina in the 50s.
The pottery with its characteristic signs purchased by Distillery Pagura is dated back to that period and it has been now reproduced in 250 copies, thanks to the generous permission of Scanavino’s Archive.
Pomace: Cabernet grapes the local area.
Working method: young grappa refined in steel tanks
We have produced 250 numbered hand-painted pieces of “Emilio Scanavino Grappa d\’Artista 2015”.
